CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- If Illinois head coach Bret Bielema is to be believed on injury information, the first-year leader of the Illini program seems confident Keith Randolph will not require season-ending surgery. 

Illinois defensive coordinator Ryan Walters said he was to blame for UTSA receiver Zakhari Franklin being open for eight quick slant and post routes in the Illini’s 37-30 loss.

The Fighting Illini appear to be headed in the right direction when it comes to recruiting these days. They are almost done with the class of 2022, but will definitely add a few more pieces, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

What is next? Start to zero in on the class of 2023. The big win over Big Ten foe Nebraska was a good showing and a positive step in the right direction to give future recruits a glimpse of the future.
