Series notes: Illinois leads the all-time series against Virginia, 2-0. This is the first time Illinois and Virginia will meet during the regular season along with Illinois' first ever game in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Illinois' two wins over Virginia have come in bowl games (1990 Florida Citrus Bowl and 1999 MicronPC.com Bowl).
