Riley arrived on campus last Saturday and is now getting acclimated with the campus, school, and life in Champaign. This afternoon, we caught up with Tracy Riley, the mother of Will, to share how her son ended up at Illinois.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -Last fall, Jershaun Newton was on campus for an unofficial visit on September 7, as Illinois hosted Toledo. Before the start of the game, several local media outlets tried to gauge whether Illinois had a chance at landing the three-star athlete. After all, several of the top programs in the country were vying for his services.

The University of Illinois is preparing to present Shauna Green with a new contract offer to make the women’s basketball head coach one of the largest paid in her sport.

CHAMPAIGN — With Wednesday being the first day of summer workouts for the Illinois women’s basketball program, Shauna Green knows the preseason is not just time for players to adapt and improve. 

Illinois head coach Bret Bielema’s request to have two working sidelines at the Wrigley Field game against Northwestern this season has been granted by the Big Ten Conference.

CHICAGO — The Big Ten Conference office has apparently heard and responded to Bret Bielema’s request for the games scheduled to play at Wrigley Field. 

For the first time since the venue started hosting college football games again in 2010, the Wrigley Field venue will have two working sidelines and in doing so eliminating the logistical possibility of both teams needing to share the same sideline.
