OMAHA, Neb. — As he walked into a winning locker room following a first-round victory, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood was handed a printed box score by a NCAA official.

The Illini seventh-year head coach stopped and stared at just one statistic on the paper - bench scoring. In an 85-69 win in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Underwood knew it . . .
