Boyd’s verbal pledge to Bret Bielema’s 2027 recruiting haul marks the third Florida native to commit to the Illini in this cycle and 24th in the last four classes.

CHAMPAIGN — Bret Bielema has operated his Illini recruiting philosophy in the state of Florida similar to the motto of the Don Johnson character in ‘Miami Vice’ where it’s an area where you can't even tell the players without a program.
