CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Kendall Bostic scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, but Illinois went cold late to fall 78-69 to Michigan on Senior Day Sunday afternoon.
Illinois (21-8, 11-7 in Big Ten) had a 60-53 lead with 6:06 left in the game, but were doomed by cold shooting and ball-handling mistakes in the final minutes. The Illini made just 2-of-8 shooting and committed five turnovers as they were outscored 25-9 as the Wolverines rallied to the win.
Genesis Bryant finished with 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Adalia McKenzie added 12 points and eight rebounds, but also committed seven of Illinois' 17 turnovers.
Mila Holloway led Michigan (20-9, 11-7) with 19 points.
The loss is Illinois' third straight to end the season - all to ranked teams - and now will look to playing in their Big Ten tournament opener in Indianapolis on Thursday.
