CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois football has been on a recruiting tear over the past several weeks, stacking big wins. On Saturday, the Illini coaching staff added another talented defensive back when Darryl Flemister of Detroit announced his commitment.

Yet despite another recruiting win, much of the conversation surrounding Illinois football continues to center on one player from the Class of 2027: wide receiver Brody Knowles.

At 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds, Knowles gives Illinois exactly what every offense needs, a long, sure-handed . . .
