CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — On Father's Day, Illinois football coach Bret Bielema sent out his familiar signal on social media, alerting fans that another recruiting commitment was imminent.

Moments later, Oak Forest, Illinois, kicker Ulysses Morales made it official, announcing his commitment to Illinois as a member of the Fighting Illini's 2027 recruiting class.

For Morales, the decision came down to much more than football. Family, relationships, and the culture Bielema has built in Champaign ultimately convinced one of the nation's top kicking prospects that Illinois was home . . .
