The Quad Cities -- Rock Island, Davenport, Bettendorf, and Moline -- have 383,681 residents combined. The area is becoming a hotbed for Division I football and basketball players.
Since 2004, the only player who left that area to play football at the University of Illinois is former Rock Island Rock placekicker Jason Reda. Named to The Sporting News Freshman All-Big Ten team, Reda ranked fourth in the Big Ten in PAT accuracy, hitting 26-of-27 extra-point attempts.
