CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Expectations around the Illinois men's basketball program have never been higher entering a season under head coach Brad Underwood. After reaching the program's first Final Four since 2005, the Fighting Illini have returned the core of that team, added elite talent through recruiting and the transfer portal, and have positioned themselves as one of the favorites to win the national championship.

The combination of experience, size, athleticism and depth has many around college basketball believing this could be the most complete Illinois team of the modern era . . .
