CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Fighting Illini cross country fans, Jon Davis is ready for prime time Saturday.
The Oakwood, Illinois native and four-time All-American will run in the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Florida.
Davis is ready to run at Saturday's NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Florida, at Apalachee Regional Park. Davis earned a runner-up finish in last week's NCAA Midwest Regional with a time of 30:21.7 in the men's 10k race. That earned him a spot in tomorrow's 10k, which starts at 10:10 a.m. CT and can be seen live on ESPNU.
Davis is looking to add to a storied career. He was named the 2017 Big Ten Outdoor Track Freshman of the Year, was an academic All-Big Ten in 2020, and a first team All-Big Ten this year.
Davis is the lone Illinois representative. However, the Big Ten will have two other runners to join Davis this weekend, as Arjun Jha (Indiana) and Curtis Eckstein (Purdue) also qualified.
For those interested in watching the event live, admission will be $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting ncaatickets.com.
