If nothing else, the 2023 Michigan football season will go down in the books as the year their head coach sat out half their games due to suspension.  Jim Harbaugh and school administrators came to an agreement with the Big Ten Thursday afternoon and will not contest the conference's there-game ban placed on the veteran coach.  That means he will not be on the sidelines for Saturday's game at Maryland nor during next weekend's showdown with rival Ohio State.

Nobody believed Northwestern would do much after a one-win season and a scandalous summer that cost veteran coach Pat Fitzgerald his job.  But interim coach David Braun has stepped in and guided the Wildcats to the brink of bowl eligibility and, for that, the school is ready to elevate him to the job permanently.

Iowa is in the driver's seat in the Big Ten West, but they took a blow this week when star defender and special teams performer Cooper DeJean was lost for the season due to a leg injury.

And just three games into her senior season, Caitlin Clark has already eclipsed Iowa's career scoring mark.  The two-time All-American will likely take advantage of a fifth season of college hoops, meaning she will likely become the all-time leading scorer - women or men - in college hoop history by the time she's done.
