COLUMBUS, Oh. - Terrence Shannon Jr. put together his best game since returning from suspension, scoring a game-high 23 points as 14th ranked Illinois took down Ohio State, 87-75 Tuesday night.
Marcus Domask also scored 23 points for the Illini (16-5, 7-3 in Big Ten).
Shannon was playing in his fourth game since a federal court judge's injunction to lift a university-imposed suspension and seemed to find his shot in the second half. After hitting just one three-pointer in 14 attempts in his last three games, Shannon drained 3 of 7 in this one and went 6 of 6 from the free throw line, the result of several of his signature drives to the basket.
Ty Rodgers posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as Illinois was a whopping 1.426 points per possession.
Ohio State (13-8, 3-7) was led by Jamison Battle's 21 points.
Illinois returns to action on Sunday when they host Nebraska (5:30pm, BTN).
