In this edition of the Farrell Files Illinois, I’ll look at some of the visitors this weekend and rank TE Logan Farrell vs the industry.

This weekend will go a long way towards telling the final story of the 2025 recruiting class as Illinois officially hosts these key guys…

• OT JJ Hirdes — the 6-5, 275-pounder committed to Western Michigan will likely flip this weekend barring a surprise and will be a solid addition to this class.
• S Tywan Cox — With his brother, Torrie Cox Jr., on the team I expect a flip here too from the 5-11, 175-pounder committed to USF. He’s perfect for the system and the kind of player with toughness and speed that they covet.
• LB Grant Beerman — The 6-4, 220-pounder committed to Purdue is less likely than the other two to flip as I’d say this is 50/50. They will push hard because LB is a massive need and this kid has size and is very physical.

And finally, let’s look at TE Logan Farrell and his ranking vs the industry. As with every commit he’s a 3-star across the board with ESPN and Rivals liking him the best as a higher end 3. I’m leaning more middle as the only one to do so as On3 and 247 have him on the lower side. He’s a good pass catcher, solid athlete and blocker but won’t wow you with speed. He’s a very solid addition to this class and flipping a home state kid back helps keeps others outside the state at bay.
