SEATTLE, Wash. - Illinois center Cearah Parchment is playing as if she likes collecting Big Ten hardware.
The reigning conference freshman of the week has made another bid to win her fourth such award this season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as Illinois upset 25th ranked Washington 75-66.
The Illini (16-6, 6-5 in Big Ten), who were playing at the Huskies' famed Alaska Airlines Arena - which the Illinois men's basketball team helped christen 99 years ago - for the first time, looked right at home. They took control in the second quarter to lead Washington 37-29 at halftime behind Parchment's 13 points.
The 6-foot-3 Canadian native posted her third consecutive 20-point game and the fourth in Big Ten play this season. It was also her fourth double-double against a conference opponent and her sixth overall.
Berry Wallace rebounded from her tough 3-of-17 shooting night in the loss to No. 2 UCLA Thursday night with a 16 point, 7 rebound effort. Destiny Jackson added 11 points.
The game also marked the return of Gretchen Dolan, who had missed the last four games with a leg injury. Illinois' second leading scorer this season went scoreless in five minutes off the bench.
Sayvia Sellers and Avery Howell scored 17 each for Washington (17-5, 7-4 in Big Ten).
Illinois improves to 2-5 against AP Top 25 teams this season and will stay on the West Coast to play at Oregon Wednesday night (8pm CT, BTN Plus).
