CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -Last fall, Jershaun Newton was on campus for an unofficial visit on September 7, as Illinois hosted Toledo. Before the start of the game, several local media outlets tried to gauge whether Illinois had a chance at landing the three-star athlete.
