IlliniGuys.com Announces Formation of the IlliniGuys Radio Network and Launch of “IlliniGuys Sports Spectacular” Radio Show

CHICAGO and CHAMPAIGN, Illinois/August 2, 2021/

IlliniGuys, an independent multimedia sports portal launched by media, sports, business and legal professionals with more than 100 years of collective experience, announces today the creation of the IlliniGuys Radio Network and the launch of the “IlliniGuys Sports Spectacular” radio show.

The show will debut on August 20th and 21st on more than 20 radio stations in Illinois and Missouri, including WLS in Chicago and KFNS in St. Louis. The program will air on Fridays or Saturdays and will be offered as podcasts by participating radio stations as well as on IlliniGuys.com.

“We are thrilled at this opportunity to talk about Illini sports and discuss major area events to radio listeners all across Illinois and St. Louis. We are fortunate to have a very intelligent and well-informed community on IlliniGuys.com, and look forward to extending those conversations to a different platform,” said IlliniGuys co-founder Mike Cagley.

Cagley will be joined on the show by former CNN Sports and Turner Sports anchor and host Larry Smith and veteran Fighting Illini insider Brad Sturdy. All three are co-founders of the IlliniGuys.com website, which has already recorded nearly 1.6million page views since its launch in mid-January 2021.

“There are some really good and entertaining sports radio shows around the state, but as we talked with station executives, we realized there was a real void in communities for locally-targeted content. We’re excited to have an opportunity to fill that space,” said IlliniGuys co-founder Larry Smith.

IlliniGuys.com is a one-stop destination for sports news, analysisand interactive content delivered to subscribers. It offers podcasts, message boards, a chat room, pre- and post-game analyses, subscriber video conference calls and recruiting updates by in-house and guest experts as well as special appearances by “Illini Legends” and other national sports personalities.
