CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women's golf is one of 72 teams headed to the NCAA Regionals as announced today, April 23, live on GOLF Channel. Illinois will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to compete at The Ohio State University Golf Club from May 5-7 as the No. 8 seed of 12 teams.

This is the 11th overall regional appearance in program history and the seventh in the last eight tournaments, with the with the 2020 national tournament canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Illini posted an 11th-place finish in 2023 at the NCAA San Antonio Regional and a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional two seasons ago. The Illini have advanced to the NCAA Championships once in program history, recording a ninth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships.

Six regional tournaments will be conducted May 5-7 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition and all national championships policies apply.

A total of 72 teams and 36 individual participants have been selected for regional competition. Of the 396 players participating in the regionals, 156 will advance to the championship finals, with the top five teams and top individual (not on an advancing team) advancing from each regional.

The NCAA Women's Golf National Championships will take place from May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., and hosted by Texas. The final three days of the championships will be televised live by GOLF Channel.
