CHAMPAIGN — To the delight of the home fans at Illinois Field, great hitting did a serious number on very good pitching Friday night. 

Illinois, while boasting arguably the most dangerous offensive lineup in the Big Ten Conference, pounded Iowa 10-5 to win the opening game of a league weekend series for the seventh time in eight tries this season . . .
