EVANSTON, Ill. - Camille Hobby scored a season-high 19 points and Illinois broke through with its first win in Big Ten play as they dominated Northwestern 93-52 Sunday afternoon.
It was the first win for Illinois (7-8, 1-4) against a power opponent this year.
Making just her third start of the season, the North Carolina State transfer was 8-of-10 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds for the Illini, who took a 45-21 lead at halftime.
Makira Cook added 18 points and dished out a team-best seven assists. Genesis Bryant scored 15 and Kendall Bostic added 11 points and 13 rebounds against Northwestern (7-10, 2-4).
Maggie Pina had 11 points to lead the Wildcats, who shot just 27 percent from the field.
The Illini return to action on Wednesday when they host Rutgers (6pm, BTN+).
