Illini Ranked in Both Polls

After a 4-0 start to the 2024 season, Illinois is ranked in both the Associated Press Top 25 & the Coaches Poll Top 25.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois has climbed to #19 in this week's AP Top 25 poll & the Illini have made their season debut in the Coaches Poll coming in at #21.

For only the third time since 1951, the Illini have started 4-0 to begin a football season. The last two times were in 1951 under head coach Ray Eliot and 2011 under Ron Zook.

The matchup at Penn State on Saturday night on NBC with a 6:30 p.m. CST kickoff will consist of two ranked teams. Penn State, which has started out its season defeating West Virginia on the road along with defeating Bowling Green and Kent State at home is ranked #9 by the AP Poll and #8 by the Coaches Poll.
