CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - There won't be an early return to the lineup for Kylan Boswell.
Illinois head coach Brad Underwood confirmed in his pregame presser this afternoon that the senior guard will not be in uniform when 8th ranked Illinois hosts Wisconsin tomorrow night (7pm CT, NBC Sports Network & Peacock).
This will mark the seventh consecutive without Boswell, who broke his right hand in practice on January 19th and has forced to be a spectator as the Illini extended their win streak to 12 games before falling in overtime at 10th ranked Michigan State 85-82 Saturday night.
The Champaign native ranks second on the team in scoring with 14. 3 points per game and assists with 3.4 per contest. He's scored in double-digits 12 times this season, including a career-high 31 points against Florida Gulf Coast on November 7th.
Boswell's initial prognosis was to miss up to four weeks with the injury. That schedule would have him returning to the team sometime next week, after Sunday's home date with Indiana and before the team flies to California next Tuesday to face USC on Wednesday and UCLA on Saturday.
Underwood says he is slated to be evaluated later this week and they'll determine his availability after that.
