OMAHA, Neb. - For the first time since reaching the NCAA championship game in 2005, Illinois has advanced to the Sweet 16.

The Illini, the 3rd seed in the NCAA Tournament's East Region, completely dominated the 11th seed Duquesne to score the convincing 89-63 win.

Illinois shot 67% in the first half, making 15 of 19 two-point attempts, as they built a commanding 50-26 halftime lead and never allowed the Dukes to get any closer in the second half.

Terrence Shannon scored 30 and Marcus Domask added 22 as Illinois (28-8) moves on to face 2-seed and Big 12 tournament champ Iowa State Thursday night in Boston.
