VICTORY AT FIELD TRIP DAY

The Illini advanced to 3-1 on the season with a 84-64 victory over Murray State for their ninth annual Field Trip Day Game. The crowd of 14,361 elementary through high school students was the largest in the history of the event, and third consecutive year with over 10,000 in the crowd. The win advanced Illinois to 8-1 in the event's history and 4-0 in the Shauna Green era.

Berry Wallace led the Illini with 22 points while Destiny Jackson scored a career high 18. Cearah Parchment turned in a 10 point, 11 rebound double-double.

One of the biggest moments of the game came through Jackson's three-pointer to end the third quarter giving Illinois a 67-46 lead. The score advancing to 67 prompted the stadium to erupt in screams, following a nationwide trend of Field Trip Games celebrating the viral "six-seven" meme.

BERRY WALLACE'S SOPHOMORE SURGE

Through four games of the 2025-26 campaign, Fighting Illini sophomore Berry Wallace leads the Big Ten in scoring at 23.8 points per game. That mark ranks 10th-best in the NCAA through Nov. 10 games.

Along with her 23.8 points, Wallace is averaging 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks across 35.0 minutes per game. The Pickerington, Ohio, native has opened the season with four consecutive 20-point outings, including the first double-double of her career in the Orange and Blue's season opener. Wallace is shooting a scorching 54.4% FG, 46.2% 3FG, and 87.1 FT%.

Wallace's four straight 20-point games to open the season make her the only player in a P5 conference to do so. Additionally, she is the only player in the country with 4+ 20-point games against all D1 teams to start the season.

FANTASTIC FRESHMEN

Fighting Illini rookies Destiny Jackson and Cearah Parchment have started all four games for Illinois and are averaging a combined 19.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 2.5 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. Parchment is one of two Big Ten freshman to record a double-double already (Layla Hays, Iowa) while Jackson's six assists in her collegiate debut (SEMO) is a program record for a freshman in a season opener.

FRESHMAN STANDOUTS

Destiny Jackson is one of 14 freshmen averaging at least 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in the NCAA and leads that group with the fewest turnovers per game (1.5). Jackson is averaging 32.0 minutes per game, the fourth-most minutes among the group of 14.

ILLINI NEWCOMERS

As Illinois welcomes eight newcomers to the roster for the 2025-26, all six available student-athletes have seen the floor as an Illini.

The freshman duo of Cearah Parchment and Destiny Jackson have made a huge impact thus far, and combined for 28 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Murray State. Jackson, averaging 9.3 points and 3.8 assists, dropped a career-high 18 points on 6-8 shooting against the Racers. Meanwhile, Parchment had the first double-double of her young career, recording 10 points and 11 rebounds. She averages 10.3 points and 7.3 rebounds on the season.

Aaliyah Guyton and Maddie Webber, transfers from Iowa and Villanova, have brought firepower off the Illini bench and combined for 19 points on Tuesday. Guyton, fresh off a minutes restriction, played for over 20 minutes for the first time of the season and dropped a season-high 12 points while doing so. Webber, the veteran transfer from Villanova, contributed seven points against Murray State, averaging 7.3 per game. Her season-high was 16 points over SEMO.

Gisela Segura, the graduate-student transfer from LIU, and Naomi Benson, the true freshman out of Ohio, both made their debuts in the first few games of the season. Both saw the floor in the fourth quarter against Murray State.

Manuella Alves and Erica Finney, international freshmen from Brazil and Australia, are both out for the season with injuries. Alves suffered an ACL tear during a preseason workout while Finney is recovering from bilateral knee procedures.
