Kedric Prince, IlliniGuys Director of Recruiting

It has been one of the worst-kept secrets in all of high school basketball recruiting that Jeremy Fears Jr. really likes Illinois. Although it is not a lock because so many things can change for a student, assistant coach Geoff Alexander and head coach Brad Underwood are doing all things necessary to let junior know he is wanted at Illinois.

Jeremiah Fears
Did you notice the headline, Fears 3.0? Jeremy Fears Sr. played DI basketball at Ohio University but had several Big Ten offers; the son is considered one of the nation's top 30 prospects in the country.
Guess what, there's another Fears on the way, and according to Fears Sr., Jeremiah is probably going to be the best of the family.
While only a freshman, Jeremiah picked up two offers as an eighth grader, one from the Fighting Illini and Ohio University. Underwood and Alexander saw Jeremiah play as an eighth grader and fell in love with his game. Tim Anderson, another Illinois assistant, has trained some of the best players in the country, one being former NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose who was asked about Jeremiah: his words, "look out."
David Williams, long-time Peoria Manual coach, now personal trainer, went to watch games at Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions at Washington High School, came away in awe of Jeremiah.
"Ked, this kid for a freshman is absolutely fearless, he has great range from three, he has the ball on a string it looks like and will only get better as he gets stronger. This kid is not afraid of the moment," Williams said.
Fears Sr. said, "I love all my kids, but right now, Jeremiah is way ahead of Jeremy Jr. I really think if Jeremiah continues to get better with his skill set, he really has the potential to be one of the top 15 players in the country."
