CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — By the time June arrives, most college basketball programs have wrapped up their transfer portal additions and high school recruiting classes. The attention shifts to summer workouts, player development and preparing for the upcoming season.

Illinois appeared to be finished adding to its roster.

Then came June 8th.
